In Gillette the First Presbyterian and Second Congregational plan a week of prayer starting January 2. Evening talks by local businessmen will be about 20 minutes each, followed by devotional services. All residents are invited as the events are community affairs at 7 30 each night.
H A Cross former vice president of Citizens State Bank Gillette appears before Justice J B Stone at the courthouse for a preliminary hearing charged with misappropriating bank funds. Attorneys Mets Sackett Sheridan County Attorney Elwood Anderson with E E Wekeman aiding prosecution and W P Dolesali as court reporter. Judge Stone will decide this afternoon if Cross is bound over to district court.
Colonel Henry Waterson longtime Louisville journalist and Civil War era publicist dies in Jacksonville on December 22. Born 1840 he was a leading Old Guard figure who added personality to papers through editorials.
Governor Carey said he would not call a special session unless persuaded legislative action could relieve farmer and cattlemen distress. He noted the petition from Park Big Horn Washakie and Hot Springs county clubs urges a session to discuss relief measures for farmers and stockmen.
On Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. Joan Ball and Mrs. Amy McCormack were married at the sister’s home of Pearl Roberts. H. T. Clark officiated the ceremony. They will likely reside in Upton.

The American Legion urges Congress to pass the Adjusted Compensation Bill this session. It offers veterans choices including adjusted service pay up to 625 dollars for overseas service, a paid up 20 year endowment policy, vocational training aid up to 0.40 of cash, farm or home aid up to 140 percent, and land settlement projects with government land purchases and sale terms. Ex service men would gain employment on projects as far as possible.
Six men including Sam Butts Virgil Moore Leo Harshield A Bannigan Terhune and Wm Davis and Arthur Reiley formerly of Montana pled guilty to moonshining before Judge Isley. They were fined 200 each and ordered remanded to the sheriff until the fines are paid.
