Citizens gathered last Saturday to discuss dividing Crook and Weston counties to form a new county. H J Chassell chaired. S D Perry led as secretary. a Constitution for the New County Division Club was signed with no opposition.
The 910 census figures by counties are reported, listing counts and regional distinctions. Officials provided breakdowns by county, highlighting population distribution and growth patterns across the area.
A May 19 petition from about sixty Gillette public school pupils and three teachers asks the School Board to grant a one week holiday between Christmas and New Year. They promise to makeup the time with good work later. An early board session is expected to consider the request.

Peter Jensen The Battling Dane and Mike Malone fought a fast fifteen rounds at Morgan's Opera House in Gillette, ending in a draw as referee Sullivan raised both hands. Malone led early with swift lefts, while Jensen grew stronger and cut Malone's mouth in the thirteenth. Applause was thunderous and locals predict a boxing revival.
Businessmen and citizens meet in Gillette to organize the New County Division Club. They aim to secure a new county with Gillette as the seat, opposing Sundance which now serves Crook county. The plan seeks legislative action before the next session and enjoys broad local support.
Advertisement urges fur owners to visit stockmen's bank for the highest cash payments. It notes the seller should see G. Maycock and offers contact via the bank for appraisal and payment terms.
