Mrs. Forbes left her 18 year old in charge of younger children when her son secured the unloaded shotgun and by mistake fired at his sister injuring her neck and shoulder. The child was taken to Gillette for care with Dr. Hunter attending while Mr. Forbes rushed home from Alliance to be by her side.

Barkeepers Warned Against Selling Booze to Draftees

Cheyenne Wyoming August 24 notices urge local boards and police to monitor intoxicated men boarding trains for draft camps. Reports from districts say draftees show disorders at entrainment and whisky dealers are reminded not to sell alcohol to any man called for service. Each draftee receives an arm band to wear from call until swearing in at a camp.

Lost children return after sun blistering wander near lake

Two children, a 5-year-old Gatch girl and a 35-year-old Brazier boy, wandered from home toward a lake and hills, played on tracks, and waded in Burlington lake before being found near an electric power plant.
