Berry Berths Big Water Well In Gillette
Interest in the Gillette water situation centers on S. D. Perry’s well and the city pumping station. Perry began Aug 8 and after six days struck a water sand at 165 feet then drilled deeper, casing to 160 feet and a gasoline pump ran three hours with no change in output. A seven hour test at 60 gallons per hour also yielded no gain. The water is hard but softer than the city supply and Perry plans a second well at the high point to irrigate Sunnyside additions. City well progress shows eighty feet of drilling with abundant water and blasting required for a large rock in the bore path.
