Declarations Must Be Filed Before Sept 13 for Naturalization

The Denver chief naturalization examiner warns aliens with declarations of intention to become citizens to file final petitions timely. Under the 1906 act, declarations must be used for two to seven years after filing. Declarations made before Sept 27 1906 remain valid until Sept 27 1913, with questions about earlier declarations to be decided by courts.

Old-Timer Frank Smith Praises Wyoming Over Louisiana

Frank Smith of Pineville Louisiana and owner of a Pumpkin Butte ranch visited Wyoming last Monday. He favors Wyoming over Louisiana for crops noting Arkansas cotton and corn good, Missouri corn burned, Nebraska corn fine, and Wyoming looking best of all states seen. Mrs. Smith stays conservative.

Cattle Train Wreck Near Broken Bow Nebr

A cattle train from here wrecked near Broken Bow Nebraska last Thursday. Fourteen cars derailed with fifty head of cattle killed and many crippled. Harry Chassell accompanied the stock. L A Brown of Prairie Creek reported the losses by letter. no crew or shippers injured.

Sheridan Brewing Co. treasurer visits city amid praise for beer

H Kroger, treasurer of Sheridan Brewing Co., spent Monday in the city to oversee trade. Locals tout Sheridan beer as superior to Milwaukee and Omaha brews, praising its purity due to fine water. A birth is noted: Don L. Wakeman born Tuesday morning to Mr and Mrs Fred Laney eight miles southeast of Gillette.

Sheep Herder Uncovers Rich Ore in Big Horn Mines

Sheridan Enterprise reports a sheep herder found five gold bearing ore specimens near Medicine Lodge in the Big Horn mountains. Estimates suggest up to fifty thousand dollars of gold per ton. He did not know the value until shown by others and has since failed to locate the spot again. Miners back the claim, noting resemblance to local gold bearing rock. Experts suspect outcropping rich lead. a re-discovery could yield a bonanza. Blair Jarvis travels to Omaha for visits.

Alleged Horse Thief Williams Leaves Gillette After Arrest

Charles Williams, arrested by Marshal Luton for discharging firearms, fled Gillette Friday. A horse owned by J. K. Driskill, foreman, vanished the same day. Williams is strongly suspected, and the sheriff seeks a line on him. The Dragon had been here several days and Williams had become familiar with the outfit.
