Northwest railroad shopmen strike expands across region

Aug 6 report says thousands of shopmen in the northwest quit work on orders from union headquarters in St. Paul. Workers at Billings Helena Livingston and Jamestown joined the walkout, with additional strikes reported at several South Dakota locations.

Military Live Stock Company Pursues Campbell County Venture

Last Sunday two U S Army captains and a lieutenant arrived in Gillette to evaluate The Military Live Stock and Cattle Company spearheaded by Louis Tyroler. They toured 125 miles of grazing country, filed on 640 acres each, and planned to inform about thirty more potential investors. Captain Duncan expressed enthusiasm for the vast territory and anticipated returning with others in the fall.

Gillette council changes water rent collection system

Going forward each property owner will be responsible for rent on water used on their lot, with optional recourse to renters.
