Two highway accidents were reported in Gastonia over the weekend. At 12 35 a m Sunday a two car crash at Second Avenue and Chester Street caused about 400 damage to each car. McDonald 24 of 607 South Oak Street drove east on Second and collided with a car owned by Charles Walter Foy Jr 25 of 614 West Second Avenue. Foy’s car was north on Chester. Three men fled the scene, one reported as the Foy car driver. Foy was arrested for drunkenness and McDonald for no operator license. About 200 damage to each vehicle. A bumper scrape occurred at 1 15 a m at Franklin Avenue Linwood Street. Paul J Sloan 23 of Davidson drove a truck east on Franklin. William C Odota Al of 404 West Granite Avenue also traveled east on Franklin when the second crash happened.
