Attempted Graft Back Ends In Severe Face Injury In Mount Holly
A 24 year old woman suffered a severed nose in a collision with a 1964 Valiant driven by Paul Bynum in Mount Holly on Saturday afternoon. She was rushed to Gaston Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Bynum, cited for reckless driving and public drunkenness, faced possible manslaughter charges as police investigated. The other vehicle, a 1968 Ford, sustained heavy damage. The injured woman, Mrs Catherine Brewster Scott, 24, of Stanley, was accompanied by her four year old daughter Zelda Scott and husband Billie Scott was driving. The wreck occurred when Bynum failed to start from a stopped position at Rawthorne and Charlotte Ave causing a head on crash on wet pavement.
