Dorie Craig, an employee of Page Company, suffered a severe injury Wednesday when his right arm was caught in a set screw at a machine. Doctors dressed the wound, Craig refused amputation, and his friends hope for full recovery.
A North Carolina bill proposes a state tuberculosis hospital with a $15,000 initial appropriation and $5,000 annual maintenance. A 12 member trustees board would oversee site selection, cottages, and expert staff to offer at cost care to all patients.
H Kennedy & Co promote Mi-o-na tablets claiming a cure or money back. The ad lists symptoms such as backache, headache, sleeplessness, nausea, indigestion, dizziness and despondency, and states a 50 cent price per box with local distribution.
A chicken fight occurred Tuesday near the state line between North Carolina and South Carolina enthusiasts. Reported on good authority that North Carolina birds won seven to five, though no Gastonia witnesses were present to verify the score. Some Gastonia residents claim full knowledge of the event.

Conditional gifts totaled 625000 for Yale, Princeton, Bowdoin, Colorado College, and Millsaps College, with 42500 allotted to colored schools whose names were kept private to avoid deterring other donors.
Four Gastonians including Miss Estelle Jenkins and Miss Kate Jenkins were bitten by a rabid dog belonging to Mr Howell. The dog was killed. the mudstone treatment was applied to all, including Mr Spratt and his son, in Charlotte. All wounds were minor and the group returned home. The dog also attacked and tore apart a cat.
The State title of Tom Walker, a negro, was found guilty of first degree murder for killing Chief of Police Chasen and another officer in Fayetteville. The judge set the execution date for April 15. Walker attempted suicide in his cell after capture following an escape attempt during an alleged blind tiger operation. The verdict came after a 22 minute jury deliberation with no disorder. Twenty three Clemson University engineering students visited iron foundries in Birmingham, Alabama last week.
Gastonia aldermen order city election to choose mayor five aldermen and five school commissioners. M. H. Shuford named registrar with T. L. Clinton and W. S. Stowe as judges. Notice cites registration open four Saturdays before the vote at the town hall, 7 am to 7 pm.

Mr. G. W. Rollins has organized a company to publish a newspaper in Forest City, chartered with capital. Fire swept the Spartan Mill settlement in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Monday morning, destroying sixty one houses with an estimated loss of 75000 dollars and no fatalities.
