Albion College President Dickle declared the "Brimstone brigade" must suspend operations over cigarette smoking. He said a list of offending students was kept and those who still smell of tobacco when paying tuition would have to refund their fees next term.
A 150 year old oak on the Agricultural and Mechanical College campus in Stillwater Oklahoma was felled after rumors it survived fires by campers. The trunk will be cut into three to four foot wide planks for desks and tables at the college.

Juvenile fishermen along the East Port New York dam gather at nightfall to scoop yellow perch with hand movements that lure fish into their hands. The perch are plentiful enough to be sold in New York City markets, supplying the village boys with pocket money each season.
State Treasurer B R Lacy writes from Solomonsville Arizona to Clerk of the Court Ross that his health is excellent and that asthma relief has been achieved since arriving February tenth. His daughter Miss Irene is described as becoming an expert horsewoman and spending much time in the saddle.

Rev J O Rabin to lead Church of the Good Shepherd and Ep is copal mission in Chester. Jail disinfection follows smallpox case and Mrs Mary Jane McFarland dies. W R Latimer suffers severe arc on power wires but survives. Maggie M Moore expected to be reappointed Yorkville postmaster with senate action pending.
