Mrs. Gussie Hope, 77, of Gastonia R-2, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Born July 16, 1877, in Gaston County, she lived all her life. Survivors: brother Lloyd Hope, sisters Cleo Loftin and Lot tie Hope, grandson Ralph Batucoin, and two great grandchildren. Funeral Thursday at 4 p.m. Berea Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. T. H. Roach and Rev. Caldwell. Burial in church cemetery. Body to be moved from Carothers Funeral Home to the home Wednesday at 5 p.m. and in state at the church one hour before services.
