A native of Corington Georgia born 1867, widow of Samuel P Pierce, she is survived by her daughter Bethel Pierce Smith. Funeral Saturday at 3 p m at McLean & Blon Funeral Chapel with Rev L M Allardson and Dr B N Ory officiating. burial in Hollywood Cemetery.

A Dallas mass meeting of citizens will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the public school auditorium to push a Dallas school athletic field project. Howard A. Sehrum, general chairman, says Gaston county is building a new school on a 19 acre tract west of Pine street with an up to date athletic field in progress. Public funds are not available to finance erection, seating, lighting, or related facilities, so local funds must be raised. This will be a principal item of business.
