Luncheon Honors Rachel Warlick in Fallston

Mrs. Franklin Warlick hosted a luncheon at her Fallston home complimenting Miss Rachel Warlick bride elect for July. Guests wore black and white attire and received silver vegetable dishes and white carnation bouquets. The event featured a generous buffet, floral arrangements, and several attendants including Mrs. Jim Peeler and Miss Margaret Cole.

Committees Appointed At American Legion Auxiliary Meet

Members of the several committees were appointed at the American Legion Auxiliary unit meeting held Monday evening at Smiths Fish Camp. Newly elected president Mrs. L. L. Mrs. Doris Bost Walters learns by War Department telegram that her husband, Marvin Walters Jr., died in Germany while on Army duty. Walters, a Lincoln ton native, fractured skull and broken neck reported. he married in Lincolnton last November and had lived there only two weeks before returning to duty. He leaves his parents, five brothers and sisters.

Reserve Plan Sparks Debate On Military Training Program

Opening Of Clay Street Proposed To Council

The Gastonia City Council discussed lighting and opening Clay Street from Second to Franklin avenues to ease traffic and provide playground access.
