Raleigh June 18 45 State prison Director J B Moore hopes to obtain today a copy of an SBI report investigating charges he used state owned materials and prison labor to build a garage apartment on his property. Moore denies using state materials and says any prisoner who worked did so voluntarily and briefly. He requested the report after it was given to Governor Scott Saturday morning and the governor conferred with SBI Chief Walter Anderson and Henry Jordan head of the State Highway Commission.

Gambler Erickson Pleads Guilty in Bookmaking Case
New York June 19 Frank Erickson a national bookmaking operator pleaded guilty to conspiracy and bookmaking charges in special sessions court. His attorney Sol Gelb stated the defendant wished to withdraw his not guilty plea and plead guilty to the information. The maximum penalty per count is one year in jail and a $6000 fine, potentially 60 years imprisonment and $30,000 in fines. Sentencing was set for June 26 by Justice Nathan D Perlman.
