On Saturday at 8 pm the singing class from the Methodist Children's Home in Winston-Salem will perform at Central School auditorium. Admission is free and all are welcome. Southern Railway to Bid on New Locomotives and Expanded Lines
President Finley said Southern Railway plans ten Pacific passenger locomotives and thirty Mikado freight locomotives with superheaters, plus 26,200 tons of steel rails. The company will double track north of Atlanta and expand yards in Cincinnati area to handle peach traffic and growing freight. Georgia Southern and Florida Railway also seeks bids for six consolidation freight engines, four switch engines, two mail cars, five coaches, four express cars, and 240 freight cars.
