Earle W. Brockman manager of the local Employment Security Con cussion office announced that he and seven other staff members finished a refresher course in employment counseling. The two week session at Harding High School in Charlotte included Mrs. Marty Sibley Miss Helen Caldwell Mrs. Alberta Shelton Nise Sean Cooper D B Bilstock Lawrence Mayney Lawrence Farrish and Mr Brockman. The group learned updated procedures for classifying applicants and judging aptitudes and qualifications to better assist first time entrants into the job market.

Four Polio Cases Reported In Gaston County
Four polio cases were reported in Gaston County this year. Two were transient and not locally handed. the other two were children aged nine months and five months. Local health officer Dr. Jackson Ramsar said Gamma Globulin was not given to all occupants under 30 in the households. Protection for exposed individuals is available but limited by quantities, prioritized by a committee from the Gaston Medical Society and Gaston County Health Department.

Alexis Man Hurt In Fall From Barn Roof
