Soviet authorities barred Robert Toth of the Los Angeles Times from departing the Soviet Union. Moscow says he is under investigation for collecting secret information of military and factual nature. Toth was summoned for interrogation at Lefortovo Prison as the inquiry continues.

The CAB said President Carter approved the Skytrain plan by Laker Airways to operate nonstop between New York and London. Tickets would be first come, first served six hours before takeoff with one way fares listed at 135 dollars and returns at 101.88. Regular round trips could rise to 631 dollars with stays of 14 to 71 days.
