Five overtures ask withdrawal from the Federal Council of Churches and one urges remaining are to be reported to the churchs high court by the standing committee on interchurch relations. The assembly voted to have further study on divorce and remarriage and to report recommendations to the 1951 assembly in Orlando Fla next June. The May 7 report by Dr John H Marion Richmond secretary urged a fresh approach to divorce and remarriage broadening grounds and called for careful homemaking training.
