Party Honors Miss Glover at Miss McArver’s Home

Entertaining Friday night at the home of Miss Ann McArver Mrs James Stallings and Mrs Hiram Maples gave a pretty party honoring Miss Blanche Glover bride elect.

Miss Glover Hosts Evening With Floral Reception

Guests of twenty attended Miss Glover's party as a refreshing sherbet was served. She wore a white linen frock and carried a bouquet of carnations and sweet peas. The rooms were decorated with mixed flowers and the informal evening flowed with lively chatter. The Invisible rays of the many deadly germ-killers known to scientists were noted.

Social Calendar Shows Dances and Receptions This Week

The social calendar lists a Morris Field Officers Club dance Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Gastonia. Thursday features a 4 to 5 30 p.m. reception for Mrs Ralph Griffin and Miss Betty Jean Griffin on Wilkinson Boulevard. Friday hosts Mrs R B Wilson Jr and Miss Ruth Christian entertaining on South Street for Margaret Morrow. Saturday morning includes a wedding breakfast at Mrs Wilsons South Street home for Miss Nell Abee of Belmont.

Mrs. Margaret Mortis Brunton presents her piano pupils in recital Thursday at 8 in the Main Street Methodist Church Men’s Bible class room. Parents and friends invited to hear performances by many young musicians including Hoyle, Park, Rollins, Koppen, Jackson, Setzer, Hagler, Taylor, Harwell, Nigua, and others.
