A countywide burglary spree left 54 locations hit over the weekend. Readouts list varied losses from unknown to thousands, with items stolen including groceries, stores, residences, and small businesses across towns like Cherryville Lincolnton Belmont Gastonia and Kings Mountain. Officials caution residents to secure property and report suspicious activity as investigations continue.
Armed looters smashed a wall at a government warehouse in Beirut and stole poisoned food and deadly gas. The government warned the public that opening the metal containers marked Defium could cause death and that tainted beans rice sugar and cocoa were taken. Security forces faced rocket grenades and machine gun fire as they tried to intervene during the $3 million theft.

Catherine Crouch Nix died. funeral Wednesday at Silk Funeral Home Bessemer City. Horace Abernathy South Zebulon 72 formerly of Gaston County died Saturday survived by widow, five siblings, and five grandchildren with Masonic graveside services at Zebulon City Cemetery.
