Man Gets 12 Months For Hitting Two Boys On Bicycle
John Proctor, 30, of Gastonia, pleaded guilty to drunk driving and driving without a license after his car struck two boys, Tommy Meeks 11 and M. E. Heffner 8, on West Davidson Avenue near Christmas. State trooper N A Davis testified of skid marks and speed. Both boys were treated and sent home in good condition. Proctor received 12 months on the roads and 90 days for the license violation, to run concurrently.

A 24 year old woman, Getty Visage of 1819 Northy Martin Street, pleaded guilty in Gastonia city court to driving without a license and again later on another charge. She works in Charlotte and is mother of three, paying $25 costs in each case. Napier, Jack Kendall, 29, of 631 North Weldon Street, was fined $50 plus costs for reckless driving and a four month road suspension. Elkin, Charles Edwin, 35, of Winston-Salem, paid a $100 minimum fine for drunk driving. He was arrested December 16 by state trooper Ches ter.
