A Saturday blaze near McAdenville covered about 10 acres and was controlled by William H. Williams, New Hope Fire Department, and Gaston Life Saving Crew. The largest blaze Thursday night on Dr. J. E. Anthony’s Kings Mountain property at Crowders Mountain burned seven acres, endangered a sawmill, and raged over two hours with Civil Rescue Association assistance. The fires likely stem from careless hunters.
Probable cause for prosecution was found against Odell Davis of 309 Tanyard Row in Gastonia municipal court.
