Abalone Tagging Study Probes Northern California Coasts
A joint project by the California Fish and Game Department and universities studies abalone populations from Bodega Bay to Crescent City. The Aba lone Tagging Program uses tagged shells to track movement and habitat, with scientists from UC, Scripps, and other agencies observing depth, temperature, and reef conditions. Capt. Revela leads dives recording locations and growth while returning abalones to their sites.
