Charlie Chaplin was buried in Corsier sur Vevey Switzerland at 80 after a brief 20 minute ceremony attended by about 40 relatives close friends and staff. Dana Chaplin his widow led the cortege with seven of their eight children as officials and a small crowd watched behind police barriers. The Reverend David Miller and Reverend Richard Thomson officiated the service with a Lord's Prayer. A fleet of Rolls Royces and a Mercedes carried mourners away as earth was lowered onto the coffin and a few wreaths were placed on the mound. Geraldine Chaplin was abroad in Spain at the time.
