Family Grieving After Shelby Fire Tragedy
In western North Carolina a blaze ripped through a two story wooden house killing six family members including five Lipscomb children aged 2 to 8 and their grandmother Mille Craft, 49. The eight survivors, aged 5 to an infant, escaped mostly through a broken bedroom window as neighbors and relatives reacted to the deadly blaze. Authorities suspect faulty wiring sparked the fire, the house stood about 19 miles north of Shelby. A relief fund is being organized by Fatlston Volunteer Fire Department to aid survivors.
