James Clive Burgess 62 of 200 Creal Drive died Saturday at home after an extended illness. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. at High Shoals Methodist Church with Rev Harlan Wilson and Rev George Robertson officiating. Burial followed in Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, South Carolina. Burgess had worked as an overseer at High Shoals Mills for 10 years and served as Sunday school superintendent. He leaves his wife Helen Burgess, one daughter married to Dr G F B Lanford of Charleston, three sisters and several half siblings, plus brothers in the U S Air Force. Pallbearers included local residents and church members.
