Ingram to run for U.S. Senate in 1978 race

Plane crash kills seven near Junction City Oregon
Seven people perished when an Aero Commander aircraft crashed into a hillside near Junction City Oregon shortly after 8 pm on a Thursday. The craft, registered in Canada, was on an instrument flight when radar and radio contact was lost. Two young Army privates, Dennis Weallers seventeen and Randy Boutain unknown age, were found in a large cargo container trapped in the hull of a Sea-Land ship that sailed from Rotterdam. They had survived about two weeks with no food or water before being discovered by dock workers in Houston. They told officials they left their Army posts in West Germany to catch a ride home for Christmas. Both men were dehydrated and in poor condition at a Houston hospital.
