Atlanta moves to desegregate its Bobby Jones municipal golf course after a federal judge’s order and a Supreme Court ruling. Mayor William Hartsfield said swimming pools and playgrounds remain segregated. Plaintiffs Dr. H. M. Holmes Alfred Holmes and Oliver W. Holmes filed suit in 1951 for denied admission.
