A pilot, starting at front page, walked about 35 miles following Jeep tracks until lights led him to a cafe on South York Street. He drank milk and water, spoke with Mrs Wilkins and Dr John Allen, then was driven by a sheriff's deputy to Yuma. He said five and a half days without food or water were rough.

Three Hurt In Two Car Collision On Poplar Street
At about 12 30 Sunday morning three people were injured in a two car wreck at Poplar street and East Airline avenue. Thelma Holgan 28 of 909 East Davis street suffered head and possible internal injuries as a passenger in a 1949 Chevrolet. Harvey Lee Kent 28 of Au ten road driver of the Chevrolet said his car was stopped on Airline. Harvey Willard Green 22 of Banlo Station and William E Barker 26 of 401 North Poplar street were in a 1953 Plymouth that collided with the Chevrolet. Both Green and Barker suffered head and face cuts with Green listed as driver. The Plymouth was demolished and Chevrolet damage was estimated at 750. Officers Willis Cantrell and M A Carswell investigated. Washington was the 42nd state he admitted to the Union.
