Salvation Army Band Entertains Gastonia Kiwanis Club

The Salvation Army band performed at the Gastonia Kiwanis Club luncheon led by Capt. Oscar Fuller who introduced Bobby and Barbara Decker Betty Jo Summitt Betty Hensley Linda Clemmons Oscar Fuller Jr Kenneth and Jean Fuller Pat Ferguson and C W Green The band sang Christmas carols Miss Jean Fuller offered three solo numbers and the Ninawans joined in group singing Captain Fuller thanked the Kiwanis Club for a $150 gift to aid needy families.

Boy's False Alarm Proved His Point

Dunbar Elementary School second graders toured the Lexington Fire Department with a fireman guide. After the display, a pupil triggered a false alarm at 3 25 PM. twenty firemen and volunteers rushed to the scene, but no smoke or fire existed. The culprit was identified as one of the seven year olds who watched the demonstration.
