Two Hurt In Gor Accident
Two women were injured Saturday afternoon when their car went out of control and overturned on New Hope road. Frances S. Phillips 25 of Lowell the driver was admitted to Gaston Memorial Hospital with a broken leg and chest pains. Her companion Victoria Carolan Winkle was treated at the scene. The 1954 model car was almost a total loss. Police have no charges pending the completion of their investigation. In other news D. J. Howe died Sunday at his home near Pleasant Ridge described as one of the county’s best men and a loyal Confederate veteran. The Greensboro Industrial News notes a marriage at Whitsett between Miss Mayme Sheppard and J. Lander Gray officiated by Rev S M Rankin. Gray is superintendent of Gray Manufacturing Company Gastonia. The bride is noted as an accomplished young woman with many friends.

Car Demolished: Driver Is Safe
A car driven by 20 year old Bobby Joe Led ford of Dallas left the road one mile north of N. G. 7 and wrecked against a post at about 3 50 am. Police say the driver fell asleep and escaped with only a cut and numbness. The vehicle was southbound when the crash occurred.

Suspended Term Given In Gastonia Booze Case
In Gastonia city court Judge V E Shive fined William Saunders 200 dollars and imposed a six month suspended sentence after a November 30 search found 1951 model Ford liquor. Saunders claimed a Charlotte cousin handled the liquor. car confiscation and sale ordered for ABC law violation. A separate case found Robert Cunningham innocent of leaving the scene but ordered to pay court costs for running a traffic signal.
