Radio Berlin resumed broadcasting after a 12 hour delay and blamed the United States for the attack on its towers. Soviet commentators accused French authorities and warned Berliners of further acts while calling for tightened security in the Soviet sector plants.
A USAF Flying Boxcar crashed in a corn field near Greenville Air Force Base yesterday. Four men were killed and three injured as the aircraft, after engine trouble, attempted a forced landing. The plane skidded 100 yards, crossed a highway, and struck another field. Base fire crews controlled the fire. two men escaped injury. Names of the dead and injured were not released.
Washington reports that Democrats plan to invite Dixiecrats to Jefferson Jackson Day dinners next year as an implied peace gesture. While some officials foresee forgiveness for many critics of the civil rights push, leaders say no peace moves toward Thurmond or Wright. The trend favors patching up the party rather than harsher splits.

The retreat shifts HQs toward the new Hwai river defense line and fuels panic among Pengpu’s 300000 residents while Red threats loom near the Grand Canal.

Claude Lee Franklin and Jake Keener confessed to placing three sticks of dynamite under a five room house near Lincolnton last Saturday.
