Moore Dies Prominent Cotton Magnate in Spartanburg Area
Thomas E. Moore, president of Loray Mills and Gaffney Manufacturing, and treasurer of Tucapan Mills, died at his brother's home in Spartanburg city after a long illness. Born March 13 1852 in Wellford DC he built a vast plantation and led multiple mills. Funeral Wednesday at Dr Andrew E Moore's home with interment in Nazareth church cemetery. Survived by three brothers and two sisters.

W F Brinkley a respected Mount Holly machinist died suddenly at home aged about 45. He worked at Mountain Island machine shops and was a Baptist church member. Survived by widow three daughters one son Fred Brinkley of Savannah one brother Thomas of Norfolk and sister Mary. Native of Gaston County he lived most of life at Mountain Island and returned two years ago to Mount Holly. Funeral arrangements pending with Rev D E Wipperman officiating.

Monday afternoon a called meeting of stockholders at the office of P W Garland discussed increasing capital stock from 3500 to 19600 effective January 1 1913. J M Holland treasurer reported eleven months of operations with gratifying results. The unanimous vote approved the expansion as the company enters its second year. The annual stockholders meeting is set for the third Thursday in January.
