LaMarca’s Death Sentence For Kidnap of Weinberger Baby
MINEOLA N Y Jan. 4 La Marca the man who kidnapped the Weinberger baby Peter and abandoned him to die was sentenced to death in Sing Sing prison for the week of Jan. 28. Judge Mario Pillom rejected motions to set aside the verdict which carried the mandatory death penalty. La Marca, 32, a mechanic, was convicted last week by a jury of 12 and his wife and family attended the sentencing with visible emotion. Defense claimed insanity at the time of the crime driven by debts.
