Mrs Uaura Hand a Belmont resident died at 2 o'clock this morning aged 75. Funeral at Goshen church with Rev W S Lacy officiating. Surviving are three sons and a daughter including Prof W H Hand of University of South Carolina. Also wedding news: Terence Stowe to Roger P Washam at new Belmont Methodist church.

Morrison Reports Bright Start for Lew is Long Staple Cotton
Mr. E A Morrison of Shiloh township cultivated 2 1/2 acres of long staple cotton and produced two bales sold at 18 cents per pound totaling 175 dollars. He plans to sell seed at 1.50 per bushel, expecting 75 dollars, and notes 250 dollars gross from 2 1/2 acres on ordinary land.

Loray Mill Compromise Reaches City Limits Deal
An October agreement between Gastonia city council and Loray Mill management ends a protest over the 1911 1912 tax district expansion. The city reimburses half the mill’s street and utility costs, paying 5 000 now and 5 500 from future taxes, with annual new territory taxes about 20 000.
