Col Gaston tours Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium opened recently with Governor Byrnes and a Navy concert. The 81,000 square foot brick building seats 3406, includes an orchestra pit for 73, dining room, offices, and parking for 52 cars. Next Sunday the Messiah will be performed there by joint church choirs.

Auto Strikes Man In Early Morning Rain
John Jurus Glenn a 73 year old man of North Pryor street sustained head and leg injuries when struck by a car about 5 o clock Tuesday morning. He was taken to Gaston County Negro hospital for treatment. Police said rain and a failed left turn caused the accident on Broad Street. A separate two vehicle crash on Kings Mountain highway involving Thomas B. Anthony and Floyd Edward Jackson damaged both vehicles.
