A $20,000 house is assessed at $30 while nearby expansive lots carry far higher figures. Old deeds and nicknames hinder owner identification, delaying final valuations.
Forty six graduates completed the Gastonia Electric Department School Night program. Mayor Vic Phillips and speakers praised their five week course on the National Electrical Code. Certificates will be awarded at a dinner at the Eagles Hall with attendees including Duke Power and Hamrick Electric figures.
