Moving day at Par 780,000 school. Grier School will relocate to its new building on Wednesday with thousands of textbooks transferred from other city schools and at least 2500 dollars of library books involved.
Mrs Minnie Rosean Biddie McRay, 74, died Sunday at her home after a five month illness. Born December 2, 1881 in Spruce Pine, she lived 18 years in Gastonia. Survived by husband Alien McRay, six daughters, two sons, a brother, 45 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at Berry Chapel Spruce Pine with burial in Phillips Cemetery. Textbook issue and school notes follow, detailing new term openings, enrollment projections, and staff appointments for local schools including Grier School and Wray Junior High.
Gaston detectives hunted for causes after seven wrecks involving 16 railroad boxcars over the weekend on county highways. Four wrecks were active Saturday and Sunday. two people injured, both taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital. Names include Lt. G Baskett, Sgt. G Drivtain, Lt. Jack Mosteller, and motorists Messer, Falls, and others.

Miss Nell Harden of Salisbury died Monday in Salisbury after a long illness. Former Gastonian, she moved away with her family years ago but had many friends here. Funeral to be held Tuesday at 10 in Remer Chapel. Fund: Home in Salisbury. Burial Wednesday morning in Rome.
