Lincolnton Druggist Beverly Costner Dies at 75
Beverly Purlaski Costner, 75, longtime Lincolnton pharmacist and former city alderman, died Monday night at his East Main street home. Born in Dallas to E. P. Costner and Betty Costner, he studied in Gaston schools and at Page's School of Pharmacy. He worked with Lincolnton Drug, then Lawing and Costner Drug Co, later owning the firm until retirement. Survived by wife Annie Nixon Costner, two sons D. P. Jr. and Alfred, two daughters Mrs. James Ware and Mrs. Mercer Simmons, a brother Archie, and several grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Warrick Funeral Home in charge.
