In heavy dawn fog on U S 1 eight miles south of Sanford North Carolina a head on collision killed Mr and Mrs Richard W Bone of Carriota NC their three children and Mr and Mrs Edsel M Newberry of RL 2 Laurinburg NC their two children A seven year old Bone boy was critically injured and taken to Sanford hospital Two cars in the soutbound lane collided in a wooded valley with skid marks described by Trooper M B Hardin The fog was said to be thick in the low lying area and enveloped the incident scene
