Gastonia Couple Hears Husband Missing After Plane Crash
Captain Cecil M. Sigmon, 31, husband of Mrs Mae Wells Sigmon of Gastonia, is listed as missing after an Army B 17 flight ran short of fuel west of Hawaii. Four aboard, including Ambassador George Atcheson Jr., are unaccounted for. nine rescued from 13 aboard. Mrs Sigmon, awaiting departure for Japan with their 21 month old daughter, learned the news by phone from Washington.
