Child Dies After Burned By Gasoline
Peggy Jean Sears aged five died in a Raleigh hospital shortly after being burned at home near Fuquay Springs. Coroner Irving M. Cheek said the child was burned by gasoline from a can when her father C. C. Sears poured fuel into a car and the motor backfired igniting the gasoline as flames engulfed the girl.

New York report says Albert Shean long part of the vaudeville duo Gallagher and Shean died Friday at the Hotel Ansonia at age 81 after a heart ailment.
