North Carolina sees partly cloudy warm humid weather through Wednesday with scattered afternoon and evening thundershowers. Highs near 90 or more, lows around 70 to the upper 60s in mountains. South Carolina also partly cloudy and warm with scattered thundershowers through Wednesday, low around 70.
Erwin Park Commission urged Gastonia to improve the park and community center. Requests include a paved parking lot at the swimming pool, street lights at Norient Ave and Pryor St near the lot, parking prohibition on Pryor St in front of the Fawn Community Center, repainting the old center, and a new parking deck below the Erwin Community Center. The city council took no action Tuesday as Mayotic Phillips said he would address it later.
