Founder of Moore and Stewart dies
Samuel McAuley Stewart 76 of S New Hope Road died at home after six weeks of poor health. Born in Charlotte November 16, 1897, he co founded the Moore and Stewart Co in Gastonia in 1920 with Walter B Moore. He served on many boards and clubs including Citizens National Bank and the Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife Winiford, a daughter and three sons with four grandchildren. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at McLean and Son Funeral Home. Burial Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials to favorite charities.
