Pic. John B. Cameron, son of Mrs. Ruth A. Brown, 402 North Morehitad street, has entered the airplane and engine mechanics school at Sheppard Air Force Base Texas. During his 22 weeks course he will receive intensive training to provide thorough knowledge and basic skills in servicing inspecting and maintaining every aircraft currently used by the USAF. Upon graduation he will be awarded the rating of Airplane and Engine Mechanic and likely assigned to a major Air Force command for active duty. Cameron was formerly employed at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Recruiting Naval Aviation Cadets Resume Limited Intake
The Navy resumed recruiting Naval aviation cadets on August 2k announced by BTL G. L. Talbert of the local Navy office. Cadet selection will be limited to 140 per month nationwide with basic qualifications including being American citizen, at least two academic years toward a degree, married or willing to remain unmarried, and physically and mentally fit. Detailed requirements and letters are available at the Navy recruiting office in the post office building. Talbert’s office hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
