David Andrew Wooten 57 died Monday at 3 40 am at his home 24 East Stevenson Street after an extended illness He was a textile worker native of Swain county son of the late James R and Sarah Visa Wiggins A Southern Church of God worker he served as Sunday school superintendent and class teacher Funeral Wednesday at 4 pm at Arm strong Memorial Cemetery Silk Funeral Home in charge The remains were to be laid to rest with survivors including wife Ester Messer Wooten four sons James Marion Earl Arnold Wooten two daughters Mrs Johnny Johnson and Mrs Donald Stewart and three brothers Homer Adam Luther Wooten and a sister Mrs Will Rogers Weather notes follow with forecast of cooler August days and rain totals for July

Dr Blairs Mother Dies at 61 in Rock Hill S G

Mrs Walter O Blair aged 61 of Rock Hill South Carolina died unexpectedly Monday morning at home after a period of ill health. She was mother of Dr J Samuel Blair of this city and survived by her husband a daughter Mrs Margaret White of Chester five grandchildren and a sister in law Mrs James L Blair of Gaslonia. Funeral plans are incomplete.

Celebration for Dr Glenn and nurse friends at Rankin Lake

Dr Glenn and nurses from City Hospital held an annual birthday picnic for his 62nd birthday on July 12 at Rankin Lake. The event drew many of his lay friends and colleagues with a large dinner, remarks by Mrs Morehead, Dr Glenn, Dr Pugh and others, and nostalgic conversations.

Planning Council Meeting and Softball Game Notice
