Gaston Day School to Begin Major 10 Million Building Project
At a Friday groundbreaking Gaston Day School marks the start of a first large scale campus build in years. Head Davidson Hobson notes the dirt diggers represent students as the foundation of the new 25 000 square foot building with 13 classrooms and offices funded by early capital campaign donations. LS3P Associates designed the project and Shelco will construct it.

Rain expected through Friday as Helene nears Gaston County
The National Weather Service expects heavy rain in Gaston County from Wednesday to Friday afternoon as Tropical Storm Helene approaches. Most intense rain will be late Thursday night into Friday morning with 3 to 3.5 inches overall, higher toward the mountains where 10 to 15 inches are possible and landslide risk exists.
