County to plow 1.2M into county schools and courthouse
Gaston County commissioners weigh directing almost 1.2 million from a land sale to school technology and repairs and to repairs at the Dallas courthouse while keeping law limits on how the Gaston County Board of Education can spend. The plan, from Commissioners Philbeck Williams Brown and Carpenter, would allocate 500 000 for North Gaston High football stadium 100 000 for Dallas courthouse renovations 510 000 for technology and roofing at county schools and 90 000 to fix Ashbrook High tennis courts. The proposal follows a 10.4 acre land sale near Caromont Regional Medical Center that funded Carolina Orthopedics construction.
