Burlington donates $10K for school supplies
Burlington opens new Gastonia store at 3584 E. Franklin Blvd and teams with AdoptAClassroom.org to donate 10000 to Gardner Park Elementary. About 600 students, teachers and staff attended the surprise announcement as kindergarten teacher Catherine Prevette thanked the retailer for the gifts to each classroom. Superintendent Jeff Booker called the gift incredible. The store opened Friday Sept. 6.

Seven Belmont doctors plan break from CaroMont to join Tryon Partners
Seven Belmont physicians at South Point Family Practice, Jessica Kafer, David Locklear, Michael McCartney, Gregory O Leary, Derek Reed, Caroline Stephens and Brian Wysong, will form Tryon Medical Partners Gaston under the Charlotte based network. They and their 20,000 patients leave Gaston County's CaroMont Health, planning a 20,000 square foot clinic near the current practice on Dec 2, marking Tryon Medical Partners first expansion outside Mecklenburg. They notified CaroMont on Aug 23 after negotiations over a 1.8 million payout stalled.
