Argument Turns Fatal as Man Leaves Wheelchair

Police say 51 year old Anthony Anton Sanders shot and killed 49 year old Charles Anthony Thompson after an argument at Sanders' North York Street home in Gastonia. Davis, 30, is charged as accessory and with firearm possession by a felon. Thompson was shot as he tried to leave, 20 feet away.

State medical examiner questions competence in neglect death

Janet Armstrong died September 19 after months of neglect at the Lincoln County home she shared with husband Bobby Dean Armstrong. Investigators say Janet, confined to a wheelchair, was found in her own excrement with bed sores and maggots in a leg wound, while Bobby, 72, faced felony neglect charges and appeared lucid during questioning.
